A new feature in Zomato - now you can 'schedule' an order for a time of your choice!

Zomato's New 'Order Scheduling' Feature - How Does It Work?

Leading food delivery platform Zomato has brought super news to its customers. It has introduced a new feature that is very useful for food lovers. With this feature called 'Order Scheduling', app users can order food two days in advance. You can also select the delivery time.

Meals can be scheduled from 2 hours to two days in advance for office lunches, weekend meetings, and any other occasion. This feature is currently available in more than 35,000 restaurants across 30 major cities including Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Raipur, Ahmedabad etc. The company has introduced this feature with the aim of making the food ordering process as convenient as possible for the customers.

How does it work?

 • With this order scheduling feature, users can order and schedule the food of their choice 2 hours to two days in advance.

 • To use this feature, open the app and go to the 'All Restaurants' section under the Delivery tab.

 • Then a new option called 'Schedule' will appear in it.

 • Press on it and select your preferred date and time.

 • Now the Zomato app will show you the list of restaurants available in your area.

 • Add the food you want in it to the cart.

 • Now a card will appear on the bill summary page saying 'This is scheduled delivery' and the order will be ready a few minutes before your delivery time.

 • You can cancel your order up to three hours before the scheduled time if you change your plans or do not want the scheduled food delivery.                 

 Security Measures:

 • Zomato has also introduced security measures with this new feature to ensure everything goes smoothly. Only restaurants with a track record of timely preparation and high-availability are eligible for this feature.

 • Notifications go to restaurants ahead of customers' scheduled orders.

 • Details of items available for pre-order are also under the restaurants control.

 • This can reduce problems like last minute replacements and shortages.
