The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully conducted three flight tests of the Very Short-Range Air Defence (VSHORAD) system off the coast of Chandipur, Odisha, on 1st February 2025. These tests demonstrated the system's ability to intercept high-speed, low-altitude targets, including drones. The VSHORAD system has a range of 250 meters to 6,000 meters and can operate at a maximum altitude of 12,000 feet.
